Despicable Monsters

I enjoyed this a slight better than “Monsters Univerisity” however I have the same peeve while watching them both…blur and pixelation. They were the despicable monsters in both films.

Digital Projection for “Monsters Univeristy” and “Despicable Me 2” is bad. It’s worst in “Despicable Me 2” when I couldn’t read the text because it was blurred out. I certainly wished I had seen it on film as opposed to digital.

Moving on from my particular dislikes the film is a very solid sequel. It kept me laughing and entertained throughout.

“Monsters University” however had me expectant of much more. All in all “Monsters University” was very good. Yet “Despicable Me 2” is a notch above it. I felt the film was a bit drawn out and it was more drama than comedy. I felt a little cheated at the end by the time the credits started rolling because I wanted to see their rise in Monsters Inc. via Monsters University but that didn’t happen on screen, it was implied. It was if it was prelude to Monsters Inc. 1/2. All in all I enjoyed it. The animation superb.

“Despicable Me 2” though had me laughing and engaged–almost brought a tear to my eye at the very end. It’s very well written and I wouldn’t have minded if it went a little bit longer.

With this film as with the previous one, I want a prequel for Gru and how he came to obtain his minions and Dr. Nefario.

One made full and the other one just right.

TV Mobile Apps

I haven’t had a cable subscription in almost two years. These shams of being able to watch live TV but you have to provide your cable subscription credentials are trash. When a cable company or even a premium channel company like HBO gives the ability to be able to use these apps via an ‘a la carte purchase then you can make announcements about these apps. Right now they’re about as useful as trash–only to be thrown away.

What more proof is needed than Netflix or even for that matter Hulu and Amazon Video for their viability?

This is what media companies should be complaining about. Their lack of progress–their ingenuity and not ‘piracy‘…

Stop making content so tied up. Cable TV subscription is an archaic form of DRM. The last frontier. Once this barrier is broken companies will see so much improvement.

Weeds S04 E02

This episode was more of a slight return to it’s roots. There was the uncertainty of what was going to happen and what is going to happen with the DEA and other loose ends from Season 2…yes, there are still loose ends from then. Just one of the many frustrating things that made Season 3 of the show almost intolerable.

Season 3 was a detour of some sort and Season 4 hopefully will fix that.

Also no more little boxes theme song–it’s been done away with. Actually no theme song period. It’s very unoriginal and like, “What…that’s it?” When it was said that the series was going to be reinvented I thought it meant that. I have yet to see that.

The episode was decent–borderline decent. It was more of a ping-pong ball going back forth though.

Firefox 3.0

I got the new version of Firefox about 5 hours after it’s initial release.

I’ve been using Firefox before it was even called Firefox and before it was Firebird as well (it was called Phoenix then). I can then definitely testify to it’s much new facelift and quickness, etc.

Although recently (for about 9 months now) I have been using Camino more and more.

The awesome bar–not so awesome for me–I like it’s scrolling but other than that it’s too early to give a solid review of the browser.

However I am still enthralled with Bon Echo and how much it reminds me of the old Firebird and it’s usage.
