Endangering of Lives?

This is what the MPAA and the RIAA are saying if you break their DRM protection. Your life is endangered because of it? Wow. Why? Because they’ll sue whoever does…? If it’s because of that then I get the picture. But just because of the fact that if I break it I’ll be endangered? What? Are CDs and DVDs now going to have a Surgeon General’s Warning on them stating: “In order to protect their ability to deploy this dangerous DRM, they want the Copyright Office to withhold from users permission to uninstall DRM software that actually does threaten critical infrastructure and endanger lives.” For this is what they have said–the MPAA and the RIAA.

  1. […] Well Universal Pictures is finally somewhat getting the idea. At least in Britian where they will sell digital downloads of movies such as “King Kong” along with a DVD copy as well as download-to-own, “meaning that the downloads will not expire.” I like this statement: “Hollywood studios have been reluctant to sell digital versions of their blockbusters for fear they would be copied and pirated online.” Ha, ha, heh, heh…um, “for fear they would be copied and pirated online” more like for fear that they don’t know what they are doing because their dumb ‘pimp’ the MPAA doesn’t know how to use the internet. Because if they did then they wouldn’t have to fear about movies being copied and pirated online because if they just listen to their consumers and stop suing every single person they think is their ‘ho’ then they wouldn’t have to fear about that. But seeing as they do this is why films are copied and pirated online at least that is one reason why. The other reason films are copied and pirated online is due to something called: DRM or digital rights management. This is why they have the ‘new service’ of “Microsoft’s digital rights management technology, which is designed to prevent consumers from duplicating the movies, burning them to disc or uploading them to the Internet.” Wow, I give that DRM like maybe a month before it’s like nothing. Let’s hope we don’t die though. Heh. Anyways at least it’s a step forward. They’ll get the idea soon enough though.   […]
