Yes, stuff like this makes me smirk. Nettwerk Music Group is suing the RIAA because, “the current actions of the RIAA are not in my artists’ best interests…Litigation is not ‘artist development’. Litigation is a deterrent to creativity and passion and it is hurting the business I love,” and they go on to say that the RIAA has “‘misapplied’ the law and that lawsuits should be a ‘shield, not a sword’.” This due to the fact that, “songs downloaded and identified by the RIAA by the Gruebel family include Avril Lavigne, a Nettwerk management client.” So what does the RIAA do? They, “demanded the family pay a $9,000 penalty, reduced to $4,500 if they pay up promptly.” What the crap?! Who died and made them a government entity? You didn’t know that? The RIAA and the MPAA are not government organizations. They are independent organizations. They however pose and try to feign that they are a government organization. That reminds me. Here’s a Pardoy of the Apple-Pepsi Video Commercial, and here is Brain Flemming explaining it much better than I can the Crime of the RIAA and alluding to that of the MPAA as well.
